A trained pharmacy assistant or technician will attach a medical device called a dermatoscope to a smartphone and open the Map My Mole app. They complete a short patient questionnaire with you, then capture clear images of the mole or lesion using the dermatoscope.

3. Secure upload and consultant dermatologist review

Your images are securely uploaded through the app and reviewed remotely by a UK consultant dermatologist. Your report is returned to you within 24 to 48 hours, typically much faster than NHS pathways.

4. Receive your results

You receive a written dermatologist report explaining whether your mole appears benign, needs monitoring, or requires further attention. Your pharmacy also receives a copy so they can support you.
